As a linguistic descriptivist, I don’t want to accept this. As a Whovian, though, I can see where it’s coming from.
Agree and disagree, for various reasons. “TARDIS” was established by the novelizations, even though British convention actually calls for an acronym that forms a word to have only the first letter capitalized. And even though the character is never called Doctor Who onscreen (barring the bizarre Dalek movies) he was credited as such for many years, and in moderation, I mostly just think it’s cute. Same with the Dr. Who abbreviation, which also comes from the aforementioned Dalek movies, I think.
Timelord though, er. Sorry. No. Not a fan at all.
